SUNU JOURNAL SUBMISSION CRITERIA

There are currently no open calls.

Submissions should critically + creatively explore topics that dwell within the domain of Africa and the diaspora. Please refer to our Manifesto and About page to get a sense of SUNU’s goals and some themes/topics of interest.

We welcome scholarly essays, creative prose, criticism, interviews, reviews, poetry, fiction and non-fiction. Essays should be no more than 8000 words. When submitting, please send work in a Microsoft Word document, and include full name, affiliation, country, email address and brief bio. If your work has accompanying images, please attach image separately to the email, and include a list of captions/all pertinent information.

Visual submissions include original art works, photography and film/video  that communicate African/Afro-diasporic stories, themes and issues. Please include at least four images/stills, with full titles, captions, dates and all pertinent information. If submitting a film or video, please provide the link to your work and a synopsis. Please include full name, affiliation, country, email address, and brief bio.

ALL WORKS SUBMITTED MUST BE ORIGINAL AND UNPUBLISHED.
